# Creating and modifying relations

Working with the data model designer.

To **create a link between the models**, click on the border of one of them, draw a line to the border of the other - and click again. 

An arrow appears between the models to indicate the relationship. Also, new fields will appear in each model - they will allow you to refer from one related model to another. 

To **configure a connection**, left-click on it and select `Edit Relation`. A modal settings window will open: 

* **Source** - the source model from which the link comes and its field through which it is linked to the target model; 
* **Target** - the target model to which the link goes and its field through which it is linked to the source model; 
* **Relation type** - the type of relationship between models (see[ the list of relation types](/docs/data-design/relation-types.md)). To remove a link between models, right-click on it and press `Delete`.
